Kydex

Kydex is strong, robust and hard-working. It is a thermoform plastic that is moulded and formed when hot.

Kydex sheath features eyelets down both sides for attaching knife to belt, vests and backpacks at multiple locations and angles for rapid access.

Kydex is often used within the armed forces and emergency services to make belt and utility clips for securing items to belts and backpacks.

Blade care: (Steel used is NITRO-V)

• Always keep your knife dry and clean
• Hand wash with warm soapy water. No abrasive sponges.
• Never put your knife in the dishwasher or leave it soaking in water.
• Dry your knife completely using an absorbent towel.
• Once clean and dry to store, apply a thin layer of food grade oil such as 'Stella food grade mineral oil' to create a physical barrier to moisture and acids.

Handle care:

All handles when assembled and prior to shipping are coated in WD-40 to help prevent moisture ingress and enhance the colour/lustre of the handle material. If after heavy use or cleaning with grease cutting dish soap the handles appear to.

Maintenance:

We recommend a professional tune-up at least once a year, even if you are sharpening at home. If you do not sharpen your own knives, we recommend you have them sharpened when they start to feel dull. A sharp knife is always safer than a dull knife/axe.
